Tom Connick is a Partner at Webster Dubyak & Weyls Co., LPA who maintains a diverse litigation and trial practice, often involving complex litigation with a concentration on cases involving unique and complex issues pertaining to construction law, insurance law and general liability.

Tom's primary practice area includes residential and commercial construction disputes, and large-loss property damage claims, including fire-loss claims.  His primary practice also includes complex litigation involving business and commercial law, and general liability issues.

Tom's work in the Cleveland area and throughout the State of Ohio has earned him a BV rating by Martindale Hubbell (the highest rating for an attorney of 10 years or less).  Furthermore, Tom was named a 2009 rising star by Super Lawyers magazine.  An acknowledgment by Super Lawyers as a top attorney in Ohio is a distinction for which only five percent of attorneys throughout the state receive.

The success Tom has achieved in litigating complex cases is a result of his unyielding work ethic, a firm understanding of the law, and an absolute commitment to his clients in complex cases, all of which have included highly-arcane issues unique to the practice area of construction and insurance law, and many of which have centered on multi-million dollar transactions and settlements.  As an experienced trial attorney, Tom's area of practice also includes class action litigation.

Tom's representative cases are illustrative of his ability to practice sound law and deliver customer service in a  progressive and competitive legal environment.  For example, Tom successfully represented a large construction contractor in a multi-million dollar personal injury case.  Tom's other achievements include:

Successful representation of a large scrap metals company in a seven-figure, large-loss property damage case.

Successfully defending and obtaining a directed verdict for a large commercial design/build energy services and maintenance company in a six-figure explosion/property damage case.

Successful representation and settlement on behalf of a bar in a wrongful death case involving allegations of lack of security.

Obtaining a defense verdict in favor of a company providing living arrangements for the disabled in a high six figure exposure premises liabilty personal injury claim.

Successful representation and settlement on behalf of a construction services company in a multi-million dollar personal injury claim.

Successully obtained a defense verdict in favor of a successful area businessman and community leader against claims of recklessness and intentional tort in a six-figure personal injury claim.

Obtained a low, six figure jury verdict after representing a high-end residential general contractor in a protracted five-year period of litigation during which the homeowner demanded millions of dollars for an allegedly defectively constructed home.

Tom has multiple successful appellate representations in most appellate courts in the State of Ohio, including the Ohio Supreme Court.  Tom currently serves as General Counsel to a Weatherhead 100 Commercial general contracting company and routinely serves as first chair counsel in significant monetary exposure cases.

Tom is an upstanding member of the Ohio Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, and is licensed to practice before the Ohio Supreme Court of Ohio, the United States District Court, Southern District of Ohio, the United States District Court, Northern District of Ohio, and the United States Court of Appeals, 6th Circuit.
